WaldrichSiegen Plans to Modernize and Relocate its ProfiTurn H

Burbach, Germany – The world’s leading supplier of heavy-duty machine tools, Waldrich Siegen GmbH & Co. KG, plans to modernize and relocate its ProfiTurn H. The largest lathe machine in the world will be transported from America to France to increase manufacturing capabilities at its new location and machine workpieces that could not previously be processed.

The machine with 7,000 mm turning diameter, 25,000 mm workpiece length and more than 350 t workpiece weight, has efficiently machined turbine rotors for power plants for several years. The machines of the ProfiTurn H series are characterized by high drive power and torques, as well as fully hydrostatic guideways. The new project requirements are as big as the machine, with schedules to meet while ensuring proper machine delivery in France.

WaldrichSiegen is working closely with the customer since the machine is planned to go into production in autumn 2020. In addition to the installation of the machine, an upgrade of the machine control, an adaptation of the electrical component to the European power grid, and the local conditions are planned. The new control features the latest technology and a larger control panel that greatly improves the machine's performance and user-friendliness.
