WFL GearCAM Solution for Flexible Gear Milling

Linz, Austria – Leading supplier in the field of complete machining, WFL Millturn Technologies GmbH & Co KG, in close association with the Swiss-based leading provider of CAD/CAM solutions for 5-axis machining, Euklid, developed WFL GearCAM. A FLANX innovation, the tailor-made CAD/CAM solution for flexible gear milling, especially for MILLTURN customers. This technology makes it possible to maximize the production of gears and decrease the lead time to a fraction, measured according to existing industry standards and the highest requirements.

A digital twin of the MILLTURN enables a complete simulation of the process. This allows the machine process to be easily troubleshooted and virtual optimized. The new WFL GearCAM makes it possible to measure gears through a measuring cycle and ensure geometry validation before the component is removed. This user-friendly software is available specifically for spur & helical gears, herringbone gears, and bevel gears.

Furthermore, different strategies for machining individual teeth are freely selectable, and the milling paths in such a way that tolerances are maintained with a minimum number of paths. An integrated database can be used to extract cutting and performance data. WFL GearCAM contains many functions for various types of gearings (even in small batches) and can be individually configured.
