Fostering Partnerships: Recap of ITALIAN TECH in INDIA 2024

Pune, India – Lately ‘ITALIAN TECH in INDIA 2024’ exhibition event was held in Pune at the Auto Cluster Research and Development Center. Organized by the Indo-Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IICCI) in collaboration with esteemed partners such as the Embassy of Italy in New Delhi, Consulate General of Italy in Mumbai, and TG Group, alongside the sponsor Exprivia and the supporter Axis Bank, this event served as a remarkable platform to showcase Italian technologies and innovations manufactured in India.

This flagship event was in its second edition, with 13 exhibitors showcasing their best tech across 4 manufacturing sectors of Agri & Food Tech, Automotive, Infra and Power Engineering, and Machinery-Equipment. It also featured four insightful panel discussions with distinguished speakers from the various industries along with subject matter experts and more than 750 relevant visitors registering and attending the exhibition cum event.

Following Italian companies, Bettinelli Automation Components, BG Fastening and Engineering Industries (Fontana Gruppo), Biesse India, Bonfiglioli Transmissions, Brembo Brake India, Clevertech PAS, Dell’Orto India, GEFIT India Technologies, Maccaferri Environmental Solutions, MAPEI Construction Products India, Marelli, Marposs & Maschio Gaspardo were the exhibitors at the event, and ADR Axles India, Coesia India, Saleri India, and Walvoil Fluid Power India joined as participants.

The event commenced with grandeur as IICCI’s CEO & Secretary General welcomed institutional guests and exhibitors, followed by the ceremonial ribbon cutting at the entrance and a comprehensive walk-through of the exhibition. Notable dignitaries, including H.E. Vincenzo de Luca, Ambassador of Italy to India; Alessandro De Masi, Consul General of Italy in Mumbai; and Alessandro Giuliani, President, IICCI, graced the occasion with their esteemed presence.

A series of enlightening panel discussions unfolded over the course of the event, offering valuable insights and perspectives. The first session on ‘European Know-How for Indian Manufacturing’, provided valuable insights into potential collaborations between the EU and India in the manufacturing sector. Esteemed speakers shed light on the ongoing negotiations for the EU-India FTA and the regulatory framework. The afternoon session featured another enlightening panel discussion on ‘Italian Advanced Manufacturing Technology for Emerging Sectors’, focusing on defence, aerospace, future mobility, and infrastructure.

One of the primary highlights of the event was the inclusion of the eighth edition of IICCI’s flagship awards ceremony - Impresa Awards 2024, which acknowledges Indo-Italian companies manufacturing in India by rewarding them for their outstanding performances in the fields of Innovation & Industry 4.0, Sustainability & Circular Economy, and Corporate Social Responsibility. This ceremony, accompanied by the launch of a survey on effective manufacturing in collaboration with Octagona, exemplified the commitment to excellence and partnership between the Indo-Italian business communities by concluding the event for the day.

The second day began with an organized guided tour of the exhibition for engineering students, highlighting the technological prowess of Italian technology and manufacturing solutions. It was followed by thought-provoking panel discussions on ‘Innovation and Industry 5.0’ and ‘Skills Development in the Manufacturing Sector’. These discussions, enriched by the expertise of esteemed speakers and moderators, provided invaluable insights into the future of manufacturing in India and the importance of skilled workforce development and role of Italian companies and educational institutions towards the same.

The second edition of ‘ITALIAN TECH in INDIA’ was indeed a testament to the enduring spirit of collaboration and innovation between Italy and India.
