Bengaluru, India – Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology, Railways, and Information & Broadcasting, Ashwini Vaishnaw, inaugurated Zetwerk Electronics’ new design-led, advanced electronics manufacturing facility in Bengaluru, Karnataka, marking a significant milestone in the company’s journey to build a globally competitive, India-born Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) champion.
M B Patil, Minister for Large & Medium Industries, Government of Karnataka; Gunjan Krishna, Commissioner at Industrial Development & Director of Commerce & Industries, Government of Karnataka; Sushil Pal, Jt Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology; and Rajesh Sharma, Executive Director, India Cellular & Electronics Association (ICEA), along with other senior central and state officials, graced the inauguration.
The Bengaluru facility is Zetwerk’s latest and most advanced electronics manufacturing unit in India, expanding its footprint across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana. With this launch, Zetwerk is deepening its presence in Aerospace & Defence and Automotive by investing in advanced manufacturing as well as end-to-end design and product development, enabling solutions that are designed and made in India for global markets. The facility further strengthens India’s electronics value chain and supports the country’s ambition to become a global manufacturing hub under initiatives such as Viksit Bharat, Make in India, Digital India, and Startup India, while meeting the global quality and traceability standards required by leading OEMs.
The inauguration ceremony was presided over by the Union Minister, alongside key industry leaders and partners. Speaking on the occasion, Vaishnaw remarked, “I congratulate Team Zetwerk on the launch of this Bengaluru facility. The Government is always looking to adopt what serves the industry the best, and we are open to suggestions. Let’s work together to achieve the goal of a Viksit Bharat by 2047.”

Commenting at the event, Patil said, “The expansion of advanced electronics manufacturing in Karnataka highlights the State’s strong industrial ecosystem and forward-looking policy framework. Facilities like Zetwerk Electronics’ Bengaluru plant underscore how design excellence and manufacturing scale can come together to serve high-impact sectors. The Government of Karnataka is focused on creating a future-ready industrial landscape by supporting investments through infrastructure, policy enablement, and continuous skill development.”

Strengthening Zetwerk’s export-led manufacturing capabilities, the facility will serve both domestic and international customers. Spread across 100,000 sq ft, the plant is equipped with state-of-the-art SMT and FATP lines to cater to the Aerospace & Defence and Automotive sectors.
At full scale, the facility will employ over 1,200 skilled professionals, underscoring Zetwerk’s commitment to job creation, advanced skilling, and building future-ready manufacturing talent. The company will also invest in continuous skilling initiatives to align workforce capabilities with the evolving demands of high-complexity electronics production.
The Bengaluru plant marks Zetwerk’s strategic entry and expansion into Automotive, Aerospace & Defence, and IT hardware manufacturing sectors, central to India’s industrial growth and national security priorities. By offering end-to-end lifecycle support, from design and engineering to manufacturing, Zetwerk aims to reduce import dependence and build more resilient domestic supply chains. Designed for highly regulated and mission-critical environments, the facility meets stringent standards of quality, traceability, and compliance, and will play a key role in localizing critical electronics sub-assemblies.
With this launch, Zetwerk continues to scale its electronics manufacturing platform while contributing meaningfully to employment generation, technology self-reliance, and India’s deeper integration into global value chains. The facility further strengthens Karnataka’s position as a hub for advanced electronics manufacturing and high-skill talent.
