Dassault Systèmes and TEXMiN Foundation Technology Innovation Hub of IIT (ISM) Dhanbad sign MoA to set up a world class Centre of Excellence in India.

Kolkata, India – Dassault Systèmes has partnered with the ‘TEXMiN (Technology Innovation in Exploration & Mining) Foundation’ – Technology Innovation Hub of IIT (ISM) Dhanbad to establish a world-class Centre of Excellence in India that will provide radical technology support and prepare a future workforce in the mining and allied industries. Dassault Systèmes will provide experiential learning through its 3DEXPERIENCE platform as a technology and solution partner to support the industrial and startup ecosystem with complete pit-to-port optimization — from geological modeling and mine engineering to workforce and production scheduling, supply chain optimization, portfolio optimization, and plant design.

For mining organizations today, sustainability, traceability, and safety are critical. This can only be accomplished by speeding up their digital transformation journey and integrating the entire value chain, from mine to plant to port. This collaboration will provide students and professionals with one-of-a-kind learning opportunities, preparing them for this fast-paced industry. The courses and curricula will be created by combining virtual worlds on the 3DEXPERIENCE® platform, which provides a single source of truth for unlocking the capabilities of complete digital transformation and experiencing the new reality of sustainable mining and metals.

Stating the partnership as an important milestone for the mining industry in India, Naresh Soni, CEO, TexMin, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, added, “We are excited to collaborate with Dassault Systèmes for setting up the Mining Technology Excellence Centre and giving our students the opportunity to experience on-the-job learning environment via virtual simulations. We are committed to train the new generation of innovators, startups, and professionals with future-ready innovation technologies.”

Delighted to partner with the premier mining institute to bring the technologies of the future, and emphasizing that mining companies must adapt to increased economic uncertainty, climate change, and resource depletion, and are expected to be more sustainable, efficient, safe, and resilient, Deepak NG, Managing Director, India, Dassault Systèmes, asserted, “The mining industry has a critical role to play in supporting mining communities to develop the skills needed to fully participate in the digital economy of the future. Academia and industry collaboration like this will help Indian mining and metal companies in their current reskilling and upskilling programs on Digital Transformation and build the workforce for the future.”
