Eriez Unveils Easy-to-Clean Round Spout Separators

Erie, US – Eriez, a global leader in separation technologies, announces the addition of Easy-to-Clean Round Spout Magnetic Separators to its grate magnet product line. These separators have a streamlined lower profile design that is half the height of standard units, eliminating the need for square-to-round adapters on the inlet and outlet ports, allowing for easier inline installation and more efficient material flow. Eriez Round Spout Separators are available with either manual or automatic easy-to-clean functionality. The manual, easy-to-clean design allows for a push/pull operation to strip accumulated tramp metal from the grates without having to physically handle the magnet. The automatic easy-to-clean version employs a series of pneumatic cylinders to clean the magnetic grates automatically at the touch of a pushbutton or timer control.

Permanent magnetic grate magnets are used in Round Spout Separators to remove ferrous contamination in hoppers, chutes, floor openings, and other applications for dry and free-flowing bulk materials. These strong magnets are designed to fit round chutes, and their low-profile designs allow for installation in areas where vertical space is limited. Customers can choose between ceramic and rare earth magnets, allowing them to select the optimal level of magnetic protection for the specific application. Magnets are easily accessible thanks to the swing bolt construction. The rare earth and Xtreme® rare earth models can withstand temperatures of up to 150 degrees Fahrenheit. There are also higher temperature rare earth units available.

These Round Spout Separators feature a 304 stainless steel dust-tight construction, a ‘ladder’ style design, and a glass bead surface finish. Sanitary construction is optional. The company offers a complete line of grate magnets to meet any processing requirement, whether dry or wet, fine or coarse, difficult to reach or continuously operating.

Chris Ramsdell, Separation Product Manager, Eriez, said, “With the easy-to-clean design, operators can quickly remove accumulated tramp iron. The automatic easy-to-clean design allows for installation of this equipment in hard-to-reach places while cleaning the magnet at the push of a button. Keeping a magnet clean ensures peak performance.”
