Pragati products are the backbone of CNC machines worldwide, spanning Europe, Asia, and America including Germany, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Poland, United Kingdom, Brazil, USA, China, Taiwan, and Korea.

Following are the Pragati products one can get to witness at the fair:

Tool Turrets for Turning Centers

DST Wide Base Axial – Live Tool Turret with VDI Tool Interface: This is the higher variant of a Basic Servo Turret (STP series) wherein the Modular Rotary Tool Unit is mounted on an STP turret and converted to a Driven Servo Turret (DST). A highly cost-effective and efficient solution for Turn Mill applications, it has a separate servo motor for tool drive, and only the tool in the working position gets driven through a hydraulically operated drive coupling. The features include an optimized and large footprint; axial tooling; high coolant pressure 50 bar, a bigger coupling diameter for enhanced cutting stability, and internal hydraulic oil passages.

The features include an optimized and large footprint; axial tooling; high coolant pressure 50 bar, a bigger coupling diameter for enhanced cutting stability, and internal hydraulic oil passages.

DMT Radial Live Tool Turret with BMT Tool Interface: Another Turret series from the Servo Motor family, Dual Motor Turret (DMT) uses two Motor Technology – One Motor for Turret Indexing while the other is for the Tool Drive. The Turret clamps through hydraulic power, allowing higher rigidity and stability.

The features include two separate motors for turret index and live tool operation, a larger footprint, a bigger coupling diameter for enhanced cutting stability, the front and back machining feature makes it suitable for use on lathes with a sub-spindle, bigger coupling diameter for enhanced cutting stability, a 4-bolt system to maximize cutting rigidity, BMT - Tooling for increased rigidity, and high coolant pressure of 50 bar.

SMT-R Radial Live Tool Turret with VDI Tool Interface: Single Motor Turret (SMT) uses a Single servo motor for turret indexing and Live Tool Drive. The features include SMT-R Radial Live Tool Turret with a VDI tool interface, a larger footprint, an in-built safety clutch, Single servo motor for turret index and live tool operation, Axial tooling with VDI interface DIN 5480, bigger coupling diameter for enhanced cutting stability, suitability for use on lathes with sub spindle, and a high coolant pressure of 50 bar.

DMT-RM Radial Live Tool Turret with BM Tool Interface: The Turret series from the Servo Motor family, Dual Motor Turret (DMT) uses two Motor Technology – One Motor for Turret Indexing while the other is for the Tool Drive. Turret clamps through hydraulic power allowing higher rigidity and stability.

Its features include: Short length turret due to an inverted live tool drive motor design, Front and back machining feature for use on lathes with sub spindle, two separate motors for turret index and live tool operation, a bigger coupling diameter for enhanced cutting stability, BMT tooling for better rigidity, and high coolant pressure of 50 bar.

Automatic Tool Changers (ATC)

Special Type ATC:  The Special type ATC has a compact size and is suitable for a moving column type HMC. There is a Hydraulic tool shifter for the exchange of tools. The Hydraulic cylinder is for transferring the tool from the magazine to the intermediate position. Cam-operated Arm drive unit is available for a fast exchange of tools from the intermediate position to the machine spindle. The Magazine has capacities for 40, 60, and 120 tools. BT/HSK/SK tools are available.

Chain Type ATC: The Chain type ATC features Magazine rotation either by cam index or by a servo drive. The Encoder for the synchronization of arm movements with tool clamp/unclamp in the machine spindle. Tool Gripper plates of the gripper arm are designed as separate parts for easy conversion of ATC from one tool standard to another. There is an option of a mechanical tool load unload feature. Face/Foot Mounting options are available. The Magazine capacities are of 30, 32, 40, 60, and 90 tools. BT/HSK/SK/Capto tools are available.

Rotary Clamping Cylinders

PHS Series: The PHS Series from Pragati Automation are Hollow Cylinders that have a longer stroke than standard cylinders. They are Open Center cylinders and are offered in 5 models covering a range of Bore capacities. They feature a built-in pilot-operated check valve to retain clamping force in the event of hydraulic power failure. An integrated pressure relief valve safeguards the cylinders from excessive pressure build-up. The stroke control is via a proximity switch or linear positioning system. There is a wide range of through bore, from Ø36 ~ Ø91. Hydraulic connections are available on either side. These cylinders are for horizontal installation. These have a compact design with an aluminum cylinder for low moment of inertia and working pressure of up to 40 bars.

PSS Series: The PSS Series are Closed Center Cylinders. They have a compact design with high-strength aluminum components for long life and low moment of interia. They are designed for high rotational speeds to suit the requirements of modern CNC lathes. Built-in pilot-operated check valves retain pressure in the event of hydraulic failure. The working pressure of the cylinders is up to 70 bar.

CNC System

Pragati has developed a complete CNC system. All elements of the system are developed indigenously which includes CNC system software, servo and spindle motors, servo drives PLC’s Encoders, and Hand Wheels with no dependence on third-party closed technologies.

Pragati CNC works on a custom-built Linux Kernel with Xenomai. Xenomai supplements Linux with a real-time co-kernel running side by side with it. It handles all-time critical activities such as handling interrupts and scheduling real-time threads. The CNC system consists of an Intel Architecture CPU, Embedded keyboard, Ethernet interfaces for EtherCAT and External communication, dedicated software, NC kernel, HMI, and PLC. NCU is available in three options. Also available are options for the keyboard and touchscreen.

This advanced CNC system boasts an array of cutting-edge capabilities, including multi-axis machining centers; lathe functionalities with 2 axes and spindle, rotary tooling, virtual Y-axis and C-axis function; a 5-axis machining center; a machining center with a pallet changer and rotary table, 4 axes and spindle; a cylindrical grinding machine for precision finishing; extensive programming options such as ISO cycles and high-level custom macros; an intuitive color LCD display with a full keyboard; integrated Ethernet and USB ports for seamless connectivity, and the flexibility to create and execute custom machining cycles.
