Meera Lasers Opens Tech Centre in Pune

Pune, India – Meera Lasers Solution Pvt Ltd, one of India’s leading Laser Integrators, has opened a Tech Center in Pune to cater to the requirements of customers in the west. Stressing that Pune is a hub of technological innovation and provides the ideal ecosystem for the Tech Center, A Satheesh Kumar, Managing Director, Meera Lasers, said, “The establishment of our Tech Center in Pune marks a strategic move in our business expansion, allowing us to extend our excellence in laser solutions across the country. The Tech Center will offer trials and prototyping to clients who require laser solutions.”

Meera Lasers commenced the design and manufacture of Laser solutions in 2010. Prior to this, the company was involved in servicing Laser Machines. “Our journey began with hands-on experience, delving into the technical intricacies of laser machines, and through servicing, we built strong relationships with clients,” he asserted. “Our pre-manufacturing years in servicing laser machines enabled us to have a deep understanding of laser technology. This hands-on expertise instilled a lot of trust in our clients, and many of our clients themselves requested us to enter into manufacturing.”

The company offers custom built solutions for Laser Welding, Battery Welding, Laser Hardening, Laser Cladding, Laser Marking, Laser Micro Machining, Laser Automation, etc. Furthermore, it is in the process of signing an MOU with IIT-Madras. Satheesh Kumar stated, “The MoU with IIT Madras is for the ‘Center for Advanced Laser Technologies and Applications in Cladding, Hardening, and Welding’.”

As per the MD of the company, the MoU will cater to the following:

  • Training Programs - Implementation of hands-on training programs for researchers, engineers, and students, enhancing their skills and competencies in advanced laser technologies and applications.
  • State-of-the-Art Facilities - Establishment and maintenance of state-of-the-art facilities within the Center, equipped with cutting-edge laser technology, simulation tools, and experimental setups to support collaborative research activities.
  • Publication and Dissemination - Production of high-impact research publications, technical reports, and presentations, showcasing the outcomes of collaborative projects, and contributing to the broader academic and industrial knowledge base.
  • Intellectual Property Development - Joint ownership and development of intellectual property resulting from collaborative research efforts, with clear protocols for protection, utilization, and commercialization of innovative technologies.
  • Industry Engagement - Active engagement with industry stakeholders, including experts and practitioners, through workshops, seminars, and industry forums, promoting the adoption of advanced laser technologies in cladding, hardening, and welding applications.
