Circular Milling Systems

Solid Carbide Circular Milling Cutter from HORN

HORN's DC circular milling system is universally applicable to numerous milling operations, such as grooving, parting-off and threading.

HORN’s DC circular milling system is a versatile solution suitable for a wide range of milling operations, such as grooving, parting-off, and threading.

Unlike tools with indexable inserts, the DC system features a solid carbide monoblock construction, which proves advantageous—particularly when deeper milling is required, such as grooving or milling small internal threads. With its broad range of variants, the system serves as a reliable problem solver for users across industries.

To meet evolving demands, HORN has enhanced the system further. The carbide grades RC25 and RC45 are now established as the new standard, having proven themselves in practice as dependable all-rounders. Additionally, optimized geometries—such as customized micro-geometries on the cutting edges—enable even higher milling performance.

HORN is also expanding the DC system with new variants. The DCN type now includes 35 additional items, including intermediate sizes with diameters of 5 mm (0.197"), 7 mm (0.276"), 9 mm (0.354"), and 11 mm (0.433"). All diameters are available for groove machining from 0.5 mm (0.020") in width. Updates have also been made to the DCF and DCX series.

With numerous variants, the system proves to be a problem solver for users.
