Eggelsberg, Austria – Flexible and efficient automation solution provider, B&R extends its option to use M.2 modules for its Automation PC 3100 and Panel PC 3100 industrial PCs, in addition to the CFast cards. This new mass memory option provides faster access and storage capacity of up to 1 TB. The M.2 memory modules are very compact and are based on MLC technology, making them well suitable especially for data logging and other data-intensive applications due to their high performance. They also have significantly more capacity than CFast cards, allowing more data to be written during their service run.
The M.2 memory card in the industrial PC occupies a predefined interface slot. The user can install it on site or can be factory-installed. Each Automation PC can now be equipped with three mass memory modules (together with two slots for CFast memory).
The B&R industrial PC, Automation PC 3100 combines the advantages of a fanless compact system with the performance of the latest Core i-series processors. It is designed to control remote panels, with additional highlights such as numerous interfaces, modular interface options, and SDL/DVI/SDL4.
The Panel PC 3100 offers a variety of modular interface options and combines a PC and display into a single system. The PC unit can be combined with any cabinet-mounted Automation Panel with a diagonal of 10.1" or more. It has two card slots for serial interfaces, Ethernet, CAN, and POWERLINK. The slots can also be utilised for a UPS solution or audio interfaces.
