Growth Amid Global Turbulence
|
The Indian Machine Tool industry delivered a strong performance in FY2025-26.
Production is estimated to have grown by 13 percent to INR 16,478 crore (US$ 1.9 billion). Imports increased by 17 percent year-on-year to INR 21,932 crore (US$ 2.5 billion), indicating continued dependence on overseas supply. Exports registered a sharp growth of 79 percent, reaching INR 2,628 crore (US$ 0.3 billion), reflecting improved competitiveness and stronger global demand.

Japan Machine Tool Builders’ Association (JMTBA) and Tokyo Big Sight Inc have announced the exhibition scale and exhibitor lineup for JIMTOF 2026, the 33rd Japan International Machine Tool Fair, which will take place from October 26-31, 2026, at Tokyo Big Sight. One of the world’s largest international technology exhibitions for machine tools and manufacturing technologies, JIMTOF 2026 will bring together 944 exhibitors occupying 4,423 booths.

Brembo and Ningbo SAFE Brakes Systems Sign JV for Motorcycle ABS Production in India

Brembo, the global mobility innovation leader, and Ningbo SAFE Brakes Systems, market leader in China’s motorcycle ABS sector, have signed a joint venture establishing a new company, BRSF Active Safety Solutions, dedicated to the production of ABS for the Indian motorcycle market. Brembo will hold a 60 percent majority stake and focus on the local assembly and supply of the ABS for motorcycles for the Indian market.
