ArcelorMittal Sets Up GCC in Pune, Hyderabad

Pune & Hyderabad, India – ArcelorMittal, the world’s leading steel and mining company, strengthens its presence in India with the launch of its new Global Capability Centre (GCC), ArcelorMittal Global Business & Technologies (AMGBT), in Pune and Hyderabad. The centers are envisioned as strategic technology as well as business hubs that will support the company’s worldwide operations, particularly across Europe, and are set to scale up rapidly with skilled professionals in both cities.

Designed as an integrated global hub, AMGBT will deliver digital innovation, technology services, and core business functions for the steel major. The center will house teams across digital technology, IT infrastructure, data & analytics, cyber security, finance & accounting, procurement, HR, project management, and other global business services. The objective is to standardize processes, strengthen analytics capabilities, and build scalable digital platforms that drive enterprise transformation and operational efficiency across ArcelorMittal’s global entities.

Lakshmi N Mittal, Executive Chairman, ArcelorMittal, digitally launched the GCC, along with senior leadership like Vijay Goyal, Executive Vice President - CEO of UDJ (Ukraine, Development Initiatives and EME JVs), ArcelorMittal and Stephanie Werner-Dietz, Executive Vice President - Head of Human Resources, ArcelorMittal.

With plans to hire 2,000 professionals, AMGBT has already crossed the 1,100-employee mark. As per Nik Puri, Group CIO and CISO, ArcelorMittal, the center is delivering globally scaled projects and aims to build Centers of Excellence powered by Hyderabad’s deep talent ecosystem. Lalit Kumar, CEO, AMGBT, shared that the company aims at creating a workplace that not only empowers teams to make a global impact but also to stay deeply connected to its core values.
