Taiwan Highlights AI-Led Digital and Green Shift at TMTS 2026

Taichung, Taiwan – The TMTS International Press Conference was personally opened by Patrick P Chen, Chairman, Taiwan Machine Tool & Accessory Builders’ Association (TMBA), who revealed how the Taiwan machine tool industry leverages the high-density cluster of the ‘60km Golden Valley’ to transform into ‘Collective Intelligence’. During the session, he formally announced the central theme of this year's exhibition: ‘AI-Powered Sustainable Manufacturing’.

The conference invited leading manufacturers, including Tongtai Machine & Tool Co, Ltd, Yeong Chin Machinery (YCM), Yinsh Precision Industrial Co, Ltd, and Hai Lu Jya He Co, Ltd (HLJH), to share their insights, collectively demonstrating Taiwan’s robust capabilities in transitioning from precision components to intelligent machinery through DX (Digital Transformation) and GX (Green Transformation).

Chairman’s Opening: Collective Intelligence in the World’s Densest Machine Tool Cluster

Chen emphasized that Taichung, the birthplace of Taiwan’s machine tool industry, has evolved into the world’s highest-density industrial cluster:

  • The 60km Golden Valley: This region gathers an extremely high-density supply chain with the flexibility for vertical integration and rapid response, creating a unique ‘Collective Intelligence’.
  • Six Major Highlights of TMTS 2026:
    • Digital Transformation (DX): Integrating intelligent transformation with deep AI technology.
    • Green Transformation (GX): Focusing on energy saving, carbon footprint monitoring, and green supply chain construction.
    • AI Demos: On-site demonstrations of Digital Twin and AI-powered smart navigation technologies.
    • Global Forums: In-depth discussions on cutting-edge industry trends such as aerospace, semiconductors, and robotics.
    • TMTS App: Providing a paperless green exhibition experience with convenient digital navigation.
    • Digital Treasure Hunt: Enhancing visitor engagement through an interactive digital app.

Industrial Collaboration: Moving from Connection to Co-Creation of Ecosystems

Tongtai (TT GROUP): Lulu Yen, Executive Vice President, stated that the alliance with YCM is centered on the core concept of ‘Two Forces, One Future’ to drive industrial co-creation:

  • Ecosystem Collaboration: Integrating industrial resources to target five key industries—semiconductors, aerospace, mold & die, energy, and automotive—providing high-efficiency, plug-and-play turnkey solutions.
  • AI and Digital Twin: Demonstrating the integration of the Tongtai Line Management (TLM) system with NVIDIA Omniverse to achieve precise productivity forecasting and production line simulations.

Precision Components and Green Oil: The Last Mile of Intelligence and Sustainability

YINSH: As a global leader in precision locknuts, Executive VP Jack Wu presented a 10-year carbon reduction roadmap. Through its smart factory and CBAM compliance reporting platform, Yinsh ensures products maintain ultimate precision while meeting international carbon reduction trends.

HLJH: General Manager Will Tseng demonstrated the ‘Smart Buy Oil’ AI platform, transforming cutting oil from a traditional consumable into a data-driven service. Through AI recommendations and a full circular economy model, HLJH helps customers increase tool life by 50 percent and move toward zero-emission goals.

Conclusion: Taiwan Machine Tools as a Trusted Global Partner for Sustainability

The TMTS 2026 press conference sent a clear signal: the Taiwan machine tool industry is no longer just a manufacturer of standalone machines, but a strategic partner providing AI solutions and sustainable transformation paths. Leveraging the collective energy of the Dajianshan cluster, Taiwan is leading the global manufacturing industry toward a new future of dual digital and green transformation.
