CAM Platforms
Mastercam EverPath Technology: A New Era in CAM Programming

Mastercam’s newly introduced EverPath Technology represents a fundamental rethinking of how CNC toolpaths are created, edited, and validated. Rather than evolving incrementally, EverPath has been built from the ground up as a next-generation CAM platform designed to simplify complexity while enhancing control.
At its core, EverPath addresses long-standing challenges in manufacturing—rising part complexity, shrinking lead times, and a widening gap between experienced programmers and new talent. Traditional CAM systems often require users to navigate different interfaces for each toolpath type, leading to inefficiencies and extended training cycles. EverPath eliminates this fragmentation through a unified, color-coded workflow that remains consistent across 2D, 3D, and multi-axis strategies.
One of the defining aspects of EverPath is its ‘automatic-first, but not automatic-only’ philosophy. Routine decisions such as cutting parameters and linking moves are intelligently handled by the system, allowing programmers to focus on higher-value decisions. At the same time, complete transparency ensures that experienced users retain full control to refine and optimize toolpaths based on their expertise.
The platform also introduces real-time toolpath regeneration, eliminating the traditional cycle of edit–rebuild–validate. Programmers can instantly see the impact of changes, enabling faster iteration and more confident decision-making. Combined with seamless transitions between 3- and 5-axis workflows and a built-in user assistance system, EverPath significantly reduces cognitive load while improving productivity and consistency.

Machine Tool Probing & Tool Setting Solutions
Renishaw Enables Simple Automation with Machine Tool Probing

In manufacturing, productivity losses rarely occur at the cutter; they arise when issues are detected at the end of the process. Long machining cycles, multiple setups, and fluctuating shop floor temperatures can turn minor variations into late-stage defects, rework, and missed delivery timelines. The practical solution lies in moving alignment, measurement, and correction onto the CNC machine, ensuring that quality is controlled during machining rather than inspected afterward. This is the core objective of Renishaw’s machine tool probing (MTP) and tool setting solutions.
Across Indian toolrooms—ranging from large captive facilities to smaller contract toolrooms—the operational challenges remain the same: dependency on skilled operators, thermal drift over extended machining periods, and the cost implications of unloading heavy dies only to identify setup or wear-related issues.
On-machine probes such as the RMP600 and OMP400 automate die alignment, establish accurate work offsets, and verify critical features during machining. Integrated compensation routines further manage temperature variations in real time. When paired with tool setting systems such as the NC4, which monitor tool length, diameter, runout, and wear, cutting conditions remain stable from roughing to finish. The result is straightforward: fewer cuts, shorter try outs, and predictable deliveries without adding operational complexity.
It is also important to address a common misconception: automation need not be complex, expensive, or disruptive. Simple automation is about a disciplined process control loop—Measure, Verify, and Correct—implemented directly on the machine. While coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) continue to play a role, their function shifts from defect detection to validation. This shift turns long-cycle, complex machining processes into first-time-right outcomes, enhancing delivery reliability.
