LMT Tools’ New EVOline Knurling System for Tangential Process

Schwarzenbek, Germany – LMT Tools has expanded its successful EVOline product family with TK EVO to include a tangential knurling system designed specifically for machining knurled components. The new knurling system guarantees the highest profile quality, extremely short machining times, high process reliability, and safe, simple handling of tools. It is the first choice for producing knurled profiles in the tangential process.

Knurling Rollers Advantages

The new EVOline knurling system is a sturdy monoblock tool with individually designed knurling rollers. The robustly designed rolling head body, with its force flow-oriented component structures, ensures high rigidity and precise knurling profiles for top component quality. The chipless forming process, as well as the precision of the roller, contribute to the high-profile accuracy. The integrated cooling and flushing nozzles are adjustable manually and reach the effective zone on a planned basis. The roller system is tangentially fed onto the workpiece and forms the desired profile. Rolling has a number of advantages over machining processes and because the material fibers are not cut but only displaced during cold forming, high component strength and consistent dimensional accuracy can be achieved. The user also benefits from high cost-efficiency because of short production times and high process reliability. For example, the TK EVO has a rolling time of less than two seconds. Tangential rolling can also be used to produce profiles in front of or behind a shoulder collar or interfering contour.

Easy Handling and Optimum Solution

The installation of the new knurling system is quick and error-free because of the defined installation positions and a labeling system with specific product information. Installation and removal do not necessitate the use of any tools. Thanks to fine adjustment with accuracies in the μ-range, the roll diameter can be set very easily and precisely. Rolls can also be changed in just a few easy steps.
