Taipei, Taiwan – TIMTOS x TMTS 2022, Taiwan’s largest first and only co-branded machine tool show, will take place from February 21-26, 2022, at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Halls 1 & 2. The exhibition halls will be packed with 5,200 booths from 900+ exhibitors. Notably, it will be not only the largest trade show in Taiwan since the pandemic’s outbreak, but also one of the most important events for the global machine tool industry in early 2022.

During an international press conference for TIMTOS x TMTS 2022, the organizers, James CF Huang, Chairman, TAITRA; Larry Wei, Chairman, TAMI; and Wen-Hsien Hsu, Chairman, TMBA, alongside industry titans, Jimmy Chu, Chairman, Fair Friend Group, and Jui-Hsiung Yen, Chairman, TTGroup, deliberated an insightful panel discussion on the theme ‘Impacts, Challenges and Opportunities for Global Machine Tool Industry after The Pandemic’.

Taiwan, according to Huang, plays a critical role in supporting the global machine tool supply chain because the country is known for its customization and innovation. Furthermore, Taiwan's expertise in communications and information technology enables Taiwan machine tool manufacturers to create the best solutions for end-users worldwide. He also mentioned that the TIMTOS x TMTS mega show will feature a diverse range of R&D outputs from the Taiwan Team’s high-profile manufacturing.

To this, Wei added that the previous supply chain has been fundamentally altered as a result of the global pandemic, which has created an opportunity for Taiwan players to explore new businesses in the post-pandemic era. Meanwhile, Hsu urged continued progress toward intelligent manufacturing, SaaS, and interface unity. The co-branded event, TIMTS x TMTS 2022, will be another eye-catcher, following the Taiwan machine tool industry’s outstanding performance in aiding the fight against the pandemic last year.

To date, emerging industries such as electric vehicles have had a significant impact on the global machine tool supply chain. Chu and Yen shared options and experiences about enterprise transformation in the aftermath of such opportunities and challenges, which fully demonstrated Taiwan companies’ resilience and flexibility when dealing with the supply chain issues.

HIWIN, PMI, Victor Taichung, YLM, SHINBU, KFO, CHMER, FANUC, MAZAK, YOU JI, TAKISAWA, YCM, TRUMPF, Delta, Mitsubishi, and Siemens are among the key exhibitors both at home and abroad, in addition to Fair Friend Group and TTGroup.

The machinery industry has overtaken the semiconductor and panel industries as Taiwan’s third trillion-dollar industry. Taiwan machine tool exports totaled US$2,245 billion from January-October 2021, a 27.6 percent increase over the same period last year. With rising COVID-19 vaccination rates and growing demand, Taiwan machine tool industry exports are expected to set a new high in the coming months. In response to border control, TIMTOS x TMTS 2022 will launch a series of online services and activities in tandem with the physical exhibition, including On-site Guide for Online Visitors, Live Tour @ Showground, Live Stage for product launches, virtual display, and online 1-on-1 procurement meetings. Visitors to TIMTOS x TMTS 2022 can register online at www.timtos-tmts.com.tw.
