RESILIENCE AND OPTIMISM DRIVE INDIA’S MACHINE TOOL SECTOR

Dear Readers,

India is striving to navigate the evolving geopolitical dynamics and energy crises. The country is on track to build resilience and establish a technology-empowered, globally competitive ecosystem. The policy environment remains positive for MSMEs, with a sustained focus on strengthening supply chains, improving liquidity, and enhancing competitiveness.

Buoyed by these factors, the Indian machine tool industry has maintained optimism as it prepares for its next move. The industry ranks 5th in consumption and 9th in production for the year 2025, as per the latest World Machine Tool Survey 2026 by Gardner Intelligence. Rising demand for machine tools, particularly high-precision machinery, signals new opportunities for the machine tool industry.

Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association (IMTMA) is gearing up to host the next edition of the National Productivity Summit, which will showcase breakthrough manufacturing practices, technological advancements, and operational efficiencies across India’s industrial ecosystem on November 25–26, 2026 in Coimbatore. I urge the manufacturing community to participate in the Summit.

I wish readers an inspiring and enriching reading experience with this edition of MMI.
