The 35th edition of BI-MU, Italy’s leading trade fair dedicated to the manufacturing sector, showcasing metal cutting and forming machine tools, robotics, automation, digital and additive manufacturing, as well as auxiliary and enabling technologies, will take place at fieramilano Rho from October 13 – 16, 2026.
A large number of companies have already confirmed their participation in the exhibition, including some major enterprises and industry leaders. Promoted by UCIMU and organized by EFIM-ENTE FIERE ITALIANE MACCHINE, the exhibition will spotlight the latest generation of digitalized and interconnected machines and technologies that integrate Industry 4.0 solutions and automation systems, enabling advanced digital factory processes.
The exhibition will be set up in the Halls 22 and 24 of the fieramilano Rho Exhibition Centre, with the possibility of extending into Hall 13 as well, which is located just opposite the two halls.
In addition to machine tools, there will be 7 technological themes: RobotHeart focusing on automation, components, systems, and artificial intelligence, sponsored by SIRI-Italian Robotics and Automation Association; AMITALY concerning the entire additive-manufacturing supply chain, sponsored by AITA - Italian Association of Additive Technologies); BI-MU Digital showing digital solutions for the smart factory, with advanced software, technologies for connectivity and data security, sensors, and self-adaptive systems; Metrology and Testing offering measuring instruments, testing machines, and machine vision; Power4Machines hosting components for mechanical, electrical and pneumatic power transmission, sponsored by FEDERTEC - Association of the Italian Production Chain of Mechatronic Technologies and Components for Fluid Power; Heat and Surface Treatments showcasing plants and systems for improving the performance of materials.
Tool Tech, a new theme in the edition, will focus on advanced tools for efficient and high-precision production. A selection of refurbished and upgraded machines and systems will also be showcased.
35.BI-MU will also present a series of thematic cultural in-depth initiatives of interest to professionals visiting the event. The event will also feature forums dedicated to two sectors with the most interesting growth potential and a particularly dynamic demand: Aerospace & Defence and Energy.
Two events entitled ‘90 Minutes with the World of Aerospace & Defence’ scheduled for October 14 and ‘90 Minutes with the World of Energy’ on October 15 will feature a panel discussion including representatives from leading companies.
The second edition of ROBOTGAMES, an automation and robotics contest promoted by UCIMU Academy and organized by EFIM for high-school students, will be held on October 15. Twelve finalist teams representing 11 school institutes from across Italy will present their innovative robotic automation projects for industrial applications.
For students of Higher Technical Institutes (ITS Academies), AITA-Italian Association of Additive Technologies and EFIM are organizing Additive Future Lab, a new national contest that will introduce young talent to additive manufacturing technologies.
Additionally, BI-MU FUTURTECH AWARDS will celebrate the most innovative solutions in manufacturing featured at the exhibition. The contest has three categories: mechanical innovation, digitalization, and sustainability.
To make it easier for trade visitors, a high-speed train will be activated directly at the fair venue.
