Raghu Vamsi Aerospace Group to Invest INR 600+ Cr in Telangana Superalloy Plant

Hyderabad, India – Raghu Vamsi Aerospace Group announced the establishment of a 50-acre integrated superalloy manufacturing facility in Telangana with a planned investment of over INR 600 crore. The announcement was made on the opening day of the Farnborough International Airshow 2026, one of the world’s leading aerospace and defence exhibitions.

The facility will be among India’s few integrated manufacturing plants for high-quality nickel-based superalloys, combining state-of-the-art vacuum melting process, forging, heat treatment, vacuum casting, powder metallurgy, and other forming capabilities under one roof. Designed with an annual production capacity of approximately 5,000 tonnes, it will manufacture round bars, wires, forgings, castings, tungsten carbide powders, and other specialized products. Commercial production is targeted to commence in January 2028.

The project will be led by Dr S K Jha, Former Chairman and Managing Director, Mishra Dhatu Nigam Ltd (Midhani), India’s premier special metals manufacturer. His appointment brings decades of expertise in strategic materials and reinforces the Group’s commitment to building a globally competitive superalloy manufacturing ecosystem in India.

Nickel-based superalloys are critical for aero engines, space systems, defence platforms, gas turbines, oil & gas, nuclear energy, medical implants, and emerging hydrogen technologies. India currently imports a significant share of its nickel alloy requirements, making domestic production strategically important for strengthening the country’s aerospace and defence manufacturing capabilities.

For Raghu Vamsi Aerospace Group, the new facility represents a major step towards vertical integration by securing access to critical raw materials for its aerospace, defence, and energy businesses while also serving India’s growing aerospace and defence supply chain. The Group has already received customer support for product and process qualification required for commercial production.

The launch was marked at Farnborough International Airshow 2026, in the presence of Ravi Kota, Chairman and Managing Director, Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL); Dr S Dwarakanath, Director General of Aerospace India Association; Vamsi Vikas Ganesula, Managing Director, Raghu Vamsi Group; Siva Arvinth, CEO; and Shaun Newby, UK Head.

Founded in Hyderabad, Raghu Vamsi Aerospace Group has evolved into a global precision manufacturing and deep-tech company serving the aerospace, defence, and energy sectors. The Group supplies complex aero-engine components and sub-assemblies to leading global OEMs, including GE Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney, Honeywell, Safran, and Collins Aerospace. With more than 1,200 employees and operations across India, the UK, and the USA, the Group’s capabilities span design, manufacturing, and testing across CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, composites, electronics, gears, fasteners, and special processes. It has also expanded into gas turbine components, mission systems, and advanced defence technologies.

“India cannot build a truly self-reliant aerospace and defence ecosystem while depending on imports for critical alloys. This facility is a strategic investment that strengthens our own manufacturing capabilities while providing the wider Indian industry with access to world-class nickel-based superalloys. We are delighted to have Dr Jha lead this important initiative,” said Ganesula.

“India’s aerospace and defence industry has long needed a reliable domestic source of high-quality superalloys. Our objective is to establish a manufacturing platform that meets global quality standards and significantly reduces the country’s dependence on imported nickel alloys,” stated Dr Jha, who will lead the new superalloy facility.
